A DIY Spa Facial for Glowing Skin

In order to maintain a healthy glowing complexion, it’s necessary to engage in skin rituals that show your face some TLC. A great way to do so is by booking yourself a day at the spa. I think we can all agree that a facial isn’t really a facial unless you’re lying down, having delicious creams and serums spread all over your face, and listening to the sounds of a distant seashore. But according to an expert, Dr. Michelle Lim, a medical consultant at The Sloane Clinic, you can make your skin smoother, softer and more radiant by re-creating the professional experience at home as long as you’re using the right ingredients. So this weekend, pour yourself a nice glass of cucumber water and follow these steps for some serious self-pampering.

Prepare

Setting the scene for your at home spa starts with creating a peaceful and tranquil ambience. It would be ideal if you have a tub at home as well. Dim the lights. A better option is to use candles (even better if they are palm wax-based). Light an oil burner with some essential oils like lavender, lemongrass or any relaxing blends. Other tip is to prepare your materials, such as scrubs, creams and masks in advance so you will not have to move around a lot.

Cleanse

Start with a clean slate to get the most out of your DIY spa day. Take the day off and refresh your skin with Sloane Inc Vanilla Silk Cleanser. This foam cleanser lifts away dirt and other impurities without stripping the essential lipids your skin needs to stay hydrated. Pat your face dry with a soft and fluffy towel and prepare for the next step in your routine.

Exfoliate

Sloane Inc Skin Superfood Pineapple Enzyme Scrub is wonderful for exfoliation. It is gel-based and has a texture that is just right for a gentle scrub. It combines Bromelian enzyme (which is obtained from pineapple) and supple Jojoba beads to refine and retexture your surface skin to uncover brighter and clearer complexion underneath. Use your fingers to massage the enzyme scrub all over your face for a couple of minutes, going in a circular motion. I can’t think of what’s not to love about this scrub. A super easy and gentle at home dermabrasion and it smells delicious too!

Treat

Oxygen Boost Energizing Masque refreshes your dull complexion instantly with its powerful blast of oxygenating active ingredients. Not only does it revives tired complexion, it helps to exfoliate dead skin cells to show off the radiant skin underneath. It effectively delivers revitalising ingredients such as vital peptides, vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids to energise dull and tired complexions, leaving skin dewy and radiant immediately after. Apply generously all over your face. Wait for a minute or 2 to allow the oxygen bubbles to pop. There you go, fresh and dewy complexion!

Mask

Gold Glow Recovery Mask is the secret to a radiant outlook before a hot date. This incredible cream mask is jam-packed with multivitamins and pure gold specks that will leave your skin luxuriously luminous and well-hydrated. Apply the mask on clean face. Sit back and relax for about 20 minutes to allow the mask to work its magic, then rinse off to reveal instantly brighter and softer skin.

Moisturise

The most important step not to miss from your skincare routine is to moisturise. Following your mask, apply your favourite skin moisturiser to further lock in the moisture. For even better results, mix one spatula of Sloane Inc DermaBoost Glutathione. Glutathione is well known for its skin whitening benefits. This powerful antioxidant can not only improve your complexion, but improve the quality and health of your skin. It is the body’s most powerful antioxidant that plays a pivotal role in detoxifying our cells, removing heavy metals, toxins and free radicals. Healthy and beautiful skin is now as simple as adding a little sprinkle of this professional-grade Glutathione powder to your favourite moisturiser to boost your skin health and radiance instantly. Once added to your moisturiser, take your time to apply it onto the skin. Gently massage it in with your fingers and don’t forget your neck!
