New Makeup Products That We're Lusting Over Right Now

The start of the Fall/Winter season means we can expect a whole slew of beauty launches hitting the market. Here are some new innovations to expect in the coming months.

(+) MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation
In today's digital age of Instagram, seven-second videos, and of course, selfies, an HD foundation becomes almost as essential to your social game as a strong Wi-Fi connection and adequate battery life. What this means is that every pore, wrinkle and mark will be even more obvious on our television, tablet and smartphone screens.

Make Up For Ever pioneered the HD category years ago with their original formula and were long praised for their ability to create an airbrushed effect under the most high-def cameras. Since all cameras are making the switch to 4K technology next year, the brand appropriately chose to upgrade the classic to ensure your #NoFilter selfies could live up to their claims. The ultra-fine mica and pigments are coated in amino acids to mimic the appearance of your own skin, just slightly more flawless, and the infusion of hyaluronic acid keeps your complexion hydrated, further extending the wear. While not all of us need to be in front of 4K television cameras, it’s reassuring to know that with this on, our skin will look absolutely flawless in front of the best of camera lenses.

(+)M.A.C x Guo Pei Collection
My heart skipped 5 beats when I saw this. On the Met Ball 2015 red carpet this year, Rihanna stopped time in her lavish, golden yellow fur-trimmed cape by Chinese haute-couture designer Guo Pei. Is it a coincidence that in Chinese culture, red and gold symbolize good luck, fortune and joy? Perhaps not for Guo Pei, whose name is on almost every fashion- and beauty-industry lips today. The line will consist of 16 items, including eyeshadows, eyeliner, blush, powder, lipstick and gloss. The stunning packaging features an exotic floral print in gold and yellow, and echoes the overall makeup colour palette of coral, pink and blue. "Blue is a colour of the soul," says Guo Pei in an interview with The Cut. "It’s also the base color of the universe and our world. I chose pink and coral for the lip colors because I think they are colors of happiness. I want to affect the people around me with happiness.

The MAC Guo Pei collection of makeup will be available at MAC counters and online in October 2015.

(+) Moonshot Cosmetics
Good news for all you K beauty addicts! Another korean beauty brand is hitting up our tiny shores! Last October, when Korea’s hottest new beauty brand,Moonshot opened its flagship store in Seoul, the beauty sphere was abuzz with rumors of how the entire place was stripped clean of inventory by frenzied beauty buzzards. Time has proven that the real reason Moonshot is so hot;is because of its bold and playful products. In order to establish itself as a serious contender in the K-beauty world, Moonshot partnered with Coson, the cosmetics R&D mastermind and manufacturer behind some of Korea’s biggest beauty brands. If you’re wondering what an entertainment label is doing playing in the makeup world, it’s all about infusing individuality into looks. As one of the top entertainment brands in Korea, YG is known for encouraging an anything-but-cookie-cutter aesthetic. The funky, eye-popping products mirror this concept, and are made for those who may be too intimidated to delve into color and want to take their makeup beyond a pop of lipstick or a Friday-night smoky eye.

Available at Sephora Stores from 25th September

(+) Chanel INFINIMENT Illuminating Powder
Every year Chanel releases an exquisite limited edition illuminating powder of which many makeup enthusiasts deem it as a collectable item. This year the Chanel INFINIMENT Illuminating Powder is no exception – it looks breathtaking, smells amazing and it is also a practical powder that would wear beautifully on most complexions.

(+) Chanel Holiday 2015 Makeup Collection
Since its creation in 1995, Rouge Noir has claimed its place as a cult nail polish, season after season. This holiday, for the first time ever, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio has created the Collection Rouge Noir Absolument, a limited edition deep black-red collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mademoiselle Chanel’s favourite unconventional shade. I swear that these vampy shades are right up my alley.

(+) Tom Ford Face Focus Collection
Tom Ford Beauty has some exciting new releases for fall. It appears new products are launching in a few mini collections, up first is a focus on face makeup for flawless and glowing skin. New products include: Complexion Enhancing Primer, A Skin Illuminating Powder Duo & Powder Foundations.

I'm going to skip everything else and talk about the skin illuminating powder duo. This is the mother of all highlighters, a slightly pricey one of course but worth every single cent. Tom Ford created this highlighting and illuminating powder duo to capture the two most flattering types of natural light on the skin: a soft white shade is like the luminous glow of daylight and a radiant golden shade is like the romantic illusion of candlelight. These lightly shimmering shades can be applied individually or layered together to create a multi-dimensional glow.

How it differs from other powders we find from other brands is how fine-grained the powder pigments are and the multi-dimensional tones. Once it’s on the skin, it doesn’t look sparkly, doesn’t catch easily on fine lines, and doesn’t make the skin look leathery. The colors are truly stunning - I think this is going to be a universally flattering palette - it will look gorgeous no matter what skin one.
