8 Multi Tasking Beauty Products For Every Busy Woman

Many of today's multi-taskers are designed to beat the no time or too lazy conundrum.

So many aspects of our culture are geared toward immediacy and the fast pace of our daily lives, it is to be expected that we’d start to multitask our personal care as well.

Multi-tasking beauty products are truly a busy girl’s dream. With all the things that can happen in our lives at any given time, we’re lucky to have access to such smart beauty products that’ll cut our primping time in half.

Raid your on-hand beauty stash for products that pull double-duty in a pinch

1. Sloane Inc Magic Balm:
This multi-purpose wonder is a therapeutic salve with super emollients to soothe dehydrated, flaked or damaged patches into baby soft skin, especially particularly parched and problematic areas. It magically soothes, deeply moisturizes ill-treated skin while forming a protective shield against future assaults.

It also works as a charm to help your lips and shins battle the chills as you conquer the icy slopes or take on long-haul flights. You can also stash a tube in your makeup case and rub a thin layer on your lids for the glossy look we love on the runways, smooth it over your brows to keep them in place, or mix it with your favorite powder shadow to create an at-home cream formula.

Various Uses: Moisturizer, lip balm, cuticle softener, calms, inflammation, prevent chaffing, brow tamer, to turn powder blush or eye shadow into a cream formula.

2. Sloane Inc Youth:
100% Organic Rosehip Oil with Lavender.

Carefully formulated with 100% Certified Organic rosehip oil whichprovides vital nutrients to promote radiant, healthy looking skin, this natural elixir has also been known to help soothe skin conditions and slow ageing.

Various Uses: Use this on delicate under eye skin, lips and anywhere with fine lines. In cases of dry skin conditions, use as an all-over facial hydrator.

3: CC Creams
CC creams are the industry's answer to the needs of our world-weary skin. With these wonder creams taking the beauty world by storm, nearly overtaking BB creams as the beauty industry's most sought-after product.

Firstly, what is CC cream? Contrary to popular belief, they’re not the same as a BB cream. While the latter stands for ‘blemish balm’ or ‘beauty balm’, CC stands for Colour Control, Colour Correction or Complexion Corrector - depending on which brand you opt for. Like BB creams they boost skincare properties, provide SPF protection, tackle the signs of ageing and keep skin hydrated and moisturised. Like a multi-purpose tinted moisturiser, but with a thinner, lighter formula and the added benefit of colour-correcting technology. Why CC creams triumph is, as well as covering or correcting any less than a perfect skin tone, they can reduce dark spots and redness, and brighten the complexion.

Where BB creams are like a light foundation with skincare benefits, you can choose a CC cream that addresses your individual needs. Unsurprisingly, they are a game-changing product. In the past the prospect of barely there make-up filled us with fear, but now it’s an actual possibility and perfect for the hot summer months as the texture is lighter on the skin.

Various Uses: Skincare's newest superstars; these do it all formulas hydrate, prime, protect and color correct. CC creams also have potent skincare ingredients that address specific concerns.

4. Benefit Benetint
This one needs no introduction.

A cult favorite for years, this dual purpose classic works as both a blush and a lip stain. Slip this into your clutch for a perfect night out!

Various Uses: Cheek and Lip Stain

5. M.A.C Eyeshadow in Espresso
No need to splurge on a specialized eyebrow pencil; eyeshadow works just as well and actually looks more natural. Use a soft brown shade to fill in any sparse or overplucked areas. Since the brow is fuller at the beginning, you just need to fill in the ends with a slanted eyebrow brush. On top of that, you can even create a natural looking eye line with an eyeliner brush.

Various Uses: Eyeshadow, Eyeliner and Brow Lining

6. Living Proof: No Frizz Humidity Shield
Meet the instant solution to all your frizz problems. Sorry I got to rave about this.

If you’re a frizz sufferer (like every single human being in Singapore), humidity has ruined your life. Just kidding—but it has been the culprit behind many a bad hair day. That’s where Living Proof’s new No Frizz Humidity Shield steps up to the plate. Unlike the line’s renowned shampoo, conditioner, and pre-styling products that work with damp and wet hair, the shield works on fully dry hair of any kind as the final touch to your complete routine—yes, that even means after hairspray—while also protecting hair from UV damage.

How is that even possible, you ask? Science! The mist is packed with a powerful molecule, dubbed OFPMA, which prevents moisture from entering hair fibers 70% better than silicone-based alternatives. “The product works by depositing a weightless layer of OFPMA that repels moisture and keeps hair smooth and frizz free,” says Living Proof chemist Yingxia Wang, adding, “The aerosol distribution creates a 360-degree uniform shield on your hair that’s layerable.” Think your climate’s humidity level is too high or low for it to do its job? The shield doesn’t discriminate, and can be reapplied as the moisture levels fluctuate. And since sun and humidity ruin the overall health of your strands, the shield is like your knight in shining armor for the long term, too.

Various Uses: Frizz Prevention, Humidity Protection, UV Shield

7. Clarins UV Plus Anti-pollution Day Screen Multi-protection SPF50/PA++++
Any Singaporean beauty junkie roughly goes through a tube of sunscreen every month. There’s been lots of talk about the effects of pollution on the skin in the recent years. But for those not in the know here’s a quick summary – it increases free radical production in the skin, causes premature ageing, weakens your skin barrier and can even lead to acne. (On top of dry skin – the worst kind of acne to tackle, by the way.) The best way to combat pollution in the skin? Antioxidants, which neutralise excess free radical production caused by UV rays and pollution.

In Clarins’ latest UV Plus Anti-pollution Day Screen Multi-protection SPF50/PA++++, a new antioxidant plant extract has been added. This plant extract is said to increase the production of a protein found naturally on the skin’s surface, which traps free radicals before they can penetrate the skin. The sunscreen is available in three shades: Neutral, pink and blue. Pink and blue tinted skincare items can help to brighten the skin surface, and neutralise the look of dark spots, making the skin look fairer.

Various Uses: Sunscreen & Pollution Protection, Color Correct, Antioxidant Properties

8. Micellar Water

Micellar waters are a dream product for lazy girls. Somewhere between toner and cleanser, micellar water is a magical potion that completely removes makeup (waterproof formulas, too!), dirt, and oil from the skin without stripping your complexion. But how does it work? Micelles are nano-sized, single-layer fatty bubbles. They are able to absorb other fats such as sebum and oils inside. Consider: though olive oil and balsamic vinegar separate from each other, two oils would blend together. So, by using a lipid to cleanse your skin, the oils on the surface join up and leave you squeaky-clean.

Micellar Cleansing Water is best for normal to dry or sensitive skin. The fragrance-free formula is gentle, but too mild for those with oily or breakout-prone skin. Since this is meant to be left on skin, it’s good that it contains a couple of anti-irritants plus the cell-communicating ingredient niacinamide.

Note that this cleanser/makeup remover is not adept at removing waterproof or long-wearing makeup. For those you’ll want an oil- or silicone-based makeup remover or a regular cleanser that cleans more thoroughly than this can. Unsurprisingly, the French have the market well and truly in the palm of their hand, with some of the best formulas originating from key pharmacy brands such as La Roche-Posay, Vichy and Avène - as well as the celebrity favourite Bioderma.

Various Uses: Light cleansing properties, toner, makeup remover.
